Berkeley Air
I was hired at Berkeley Air Monitoring Group to revamp their website, which was outdated due to the staff's unfamiliarity with Joomla and completely unusable on mobile devices. Berkeley Air wanted a site that looked modern but also academic. I suggested a custom WordPress theme that was fully responsive.
I was responsible for both design and implementation on this site. Using Adobe Photoshop, I created mockups for desktop, tablet, and mobile versions of the site, and after a few rounds of feedback, coded it in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.
The theme uses the Bootstrap framework for easy responsiveness and jQuery for a sleek horizontal dropdown menu. Projects and Publications are WordPress posts that use custom WordPress taxonomies to keep track of clients and locations and custom meta data fields to store other pertinent information. It also features a Leaflet map whose points link to projects in those locations.
The site went live on March 18, 2014 and can be viewed at berkeleyair.com.
