Potential Energy
I worked for the non-profit organization Potential Energy for three years as a media intern and then a Web & Graphics Consultant. During that time, my duties included creating digital and print graphics, managing the website, and introducing new site features such as the donation calculator (now defunct).
One of my last projects was to revamp the Our Team page and to create a sleek, modern homepage.
The new Our Team page improves on the previous version by adding headshots of each team member to be more visually engaging. Staff bios are hidden in jQuery pop-ups to reduce clutter, and font and color choices make information clearer on the page.
The homepage is a custom WordPress template created with HTML, CSS, and PHP. It uses the single-page style that clearly narrates Potential Energy's mission and impact to the audience through minimal text, video, photos, and icons from graphic designer and friend Eugenia Ho. It has a fixed header so that interested visitors can find more information easily, as well as a more detailed site map in the footer.
These pages went live in April 2014. A partial version can be viewed via Wayback Machine.
